moving forward.

apologies for the lack of blogging of late, however, there have been some eventful turns in my life over the past couple of weeks.

first of all, jane (my business partner at make+made) decided that she no longer wanted to be part of the venture and did a runner on saturday morning, after repaying herself with all the cash and taking away anything that she had contributed to the shop at all, which was nearly all of the display equipment and all the haberdashery stock.  i had absolutely no idea that there was anything wrong at all, other than usual shop concerns, so it came completely out of the blue for me.

so for the last two weeks i have been working in the shop full time again mostly in a constant state of rage and incredulity. but i quickly came to the conclusion that i wanted to close the shop and be done with it.  and with this decision came the focus on moving forward.

all the makers and customers and other people who had been involved with the project were so supportive and kind when i told them what had happened.  the response i got was so humbly and overwhelming and i am absolutely certain that it was what kept me going and has also restored some of my lost faith in humanity.

many have asked me to carry on with make+made in some way and have offered to be involved in anything i do take on.  i think i will.  the thing that upsets me the most is the feeling of cutting short what could have been an amazing relationship with all our makers and sellers and a feeling like i've let them down.

so i will get over this and i will be back with more and better.

but first, a big big thank you to all my wonderful and amazing makers.  thank you for being involved, for trusting us with your work, for giving us a chance and for your kind words and encouragement.  i am so happy to have had the opportunity to have worked with you and i hope that we will be working together again before long.

cookkiies love milk.
